Performances generally take place even in inclement weather. In the event of a performance being canceled due to severe weather, tickets can be rebooked free of charge to another performance date (if reservations allow), or you can receive a refund. There are separate rules for premiere tickets (alternative dates).

Seating arrangement

We have taken your valuable feedback on the seating arrangement into account. In 2026, all seats (except for the VIP area with tables) will be staggered to guarantee you an even better view of the stage!

Stage location

The centerpiece of the area, our stage, designed by Manfred Waba, is centrally located in front of the Vienna Konzerthaus, shown in the center of the seating plan. The innovative stage design integrates the natural beauty and architecture of the Heumarkt and frames all four sides of the area, creating a unique opera arena.

VIP-PACKAGES

EXPERIENCE OPERA IN ITS MOST MAGNIFICENT FORM

When purchasing a VIP ticket, you can choose your seat in the first four rows. Not only will you enjoy an unbeatable view of the stage, but also extra comfort and more legroom (VIP+ only).

Before the performance and during the intermission, you will have exclusive access to our VIP bar area, where you can enjoy selected drinks and food without having to wait.

Conductor and artistic director of the Vienna Opera Summer, Joji Hattori, will come to the VIP area during the interval and is looking forward to talking to you.

Included in the VIP package:

VIP reception including drinks and cold dishes (gourmet event)
VIP break reception including drinks and various snacks (Gerstner K.u.K. Hofzuckerbäcker)
Side table for your drinks
Best view of the stage
Additional legroom (VIP+ only)

Discounts

Spaces are provided for wheelchair users, which can be booked when purchasing tickets online.
Persons with a degree of disability of 50% or more receive a 50% discount on ticket purchases upon presentation of their disability pass. This applies to all performances on regular sale (in categories A-E).
- To book discounted tickets online, you must first register at tickets.opernsommer.at (create a customer account). Please then send a copy of your disability ID to tickets@opernsommer.at. Once you have registered, you will be able to purchase discounted tickets in our online ticket shop.
- If an accompanying person is listed on your disability pass, you can also book a ticket for them with a 50% discount.
Pupils, students (up to the age of 27) & apprentices receive -30% off the ticket price in categories A-E.
- To book online, you must first register at tickets.opernsommer.at.
  Please then email a copy of your student ID to tickets@opernsommer.at. The discount will be available once we have activated and confirmed your account. Tickets purchased before the promotion went live cannot be retroactively discounted.

Subsequent consideration of various discounts (after tickets have been purchased) is not possible. The discounts are valid until further notice and the number of discounted tickets is limited.
