THE VIENNA CHAMBER ORCHESTRA
The Vienna Chamber Orchestra is one of the world’s most internationally renowned chamber orchestras. Since its founding in 1946, it has performed in more than 80 countries and can be heard regularly on the world’s most prestigious concert stages.
Highlights of its history include performances conducted by Benjamin Britten, the debut of nine-year-old Daniel Barenboim, and appearances by Alfred Brendel. Since its founding, the orchestra has been closely associated with the Vienna Konzerthaus and has accompanied opera productions by the Vereinigte Bühnen Wien since 2012.
