Our opera program for young people
Experience the fascination of opera with our “Discover Opera” program specially designed for young people. Our aim is to introduce young people from the age of 10 (upper and lower school) to the world of opera and to awaken their enthusiasm for this artistic form of expression. 2025 in collaboration with music educator Esther Planton.
PROGRAM OFFERS
REHEARSAL VISITS WITH BACKSTAGE TOUR
The students can attend various rehearsals and take a look behind the scenes. They discover how an opera production is created, from the first rehearsals to the final performance.
MEET AND GREET WITH THE ARTISTS
After the rehearsal visit, the young people have the opportunity to speak directly with the artists in a meet-and-greet session. A great opportunity to have inspiring conversations and find out more about career paths in the world of opera.
WORKSHOPS
We also offer tailor-made workshops for different age groups. These workshops are designed to be interactive and to introduce students to the elements of opera in an understandable and exciting way.
PARTICIPATION
Participation in our youth program is possible through schools or private bookings. Details on funding and possible support from educational institutions or the “Friends of the Vienna Opera Summer” association are available on request.
